Val Silver Ellis – a great friend, the most generous woman I’ve ever known, the most outrageous and unpredictable, funniest person to hang out with, a powerhouse equities trader who made the best guacamole I’ve ever eaten. Loyal to her friends beyond description. Married to Sam Ellis, an amazing friend who would come fix your tire in Buffalo at 3 in the morning if you called him in a jam. If he had 5 dollars left in his pocket he’d give you the 5 and his pants too, no questions asked. It don’t get better than Sam and Val.
We lost Val on 9/11 at the World Trade Center. She worked for Cantor Fitzgerald.
I will always think of you Val, and this song today, Go On. Although I call it Val’s Song, I wrote it for my buddy Sam who had the honor of marrying an angel.
Damn I miss you. Never forget.
