I have a residency at the Red Lion, a club on Bleecker Street in NYC. It’s a great bar with patrons who come to drink and dance and have fun. When I play with my R&B party band the Stingers we open with Signed Sealed Delivered, and when I play with my original rock blues & cover band, the Skip Brevis Band, I open with Fortunate Son.
John Fogerty is a favorite of mine. Love all his work, both solo and with Creedence Clearwater Revival.
So I was thrilled to see on thisdayinmusic.com that today, April 14th in 1970 was Creedence Clearwater Revival’s live UK debut when they played at Royal Albert Hall! What a great excuse to sing and record Fortunate Son.
